The 2007 Chevrolet HHR 1LT returns for 2007 with no major changes. It is available in four trim lines, LS and LT models, each with or without panels. The HHR is powered by a revised 2.2L four-cylinder engine that has increased output from 142 hp to 149 hp and torque increases from 150 lb-ft to 152 lb-ft. The optional 2.4L four-cylinder engine on the LT models has also been upgraded to produce more horsepower and torque.

All engines are mated to the standard five-speed manual transmission but can be ordered with the optional four-speed automatic transmission. Standard features include an audio system with ipod plug in, 60/40 rear seats that fold flat for a level cargo area, concealed storage compartments and cruise control. There are two new exterior colours available and include Imperial Blue Metallic and Golden Teal Metallic. Commanding looks aren't the only attraction of Chevrolet's HHR. Judged by performance and comfort attributes, as well as solid build quality, the HHR is actually one of GM's most appealing vehicles.

The HHR handles easily, manoeuvres crisply and steers with a light touch. Body lean through curves isn't bad, but one tends to avoid pushing this wagon too hard. Even in urban settings, the ride is smooth. Occupants might feel pavement imperfections, but few produce noticeable discomfort.
